How to receive a massage
When receiving a massage, the best thing you can do for yourself is absolutely nothing!  I have had many encounters where the person on my table felt as though they needed to help me out by shifting his body or holding up his arm or leg so that I wouldn't have to work so hard myself.  PLEASE DO NOT TRY TO HELP.  By lifting and contracting your muscles on the massage table, it is actually taking away from the massage experience because you are not fully relaxed.  My goal is to have you be fully relaxed so that you can get the full benefit of the massage experience.  I am professionally trained so please don't worry about me having to work.

Also, many people feel as though they need to talk during the massage.  I actually do not encourage talking unless if it is in regards to the massage itself (i.e pressure, limitations of stretching, etc.).  Talking can also result in muscular contraction especially if the person on the table is venting about something that is troublesome or negative.  Once again, this can prevent complete relaxation.  Complete relaxation is what  will give you the most beneficial massage experience.  So take a deep breath and just let  yourself go!
